The SF Giants failed to make the playoffs this season which is a big reason why manager Bob Melvin was fired and the team is searching for his replacement. However, there will still be many familiar faces in the playoffs for Giants fans.

In total, there are 15 former Giants who will either certainly be on, or have a chance to be on, playoff rosters for the teams that will be playing October baseball. Let's take a look at all of these familiar faces starting with the most despised ones.

All 15 former SF Giants who have a chance to make an impact in the playoffs

1. Blake Snell (Dodgers)

Blake Snell ditched the Giants for the Los Angeles Dodgers last offseason. While Giants fans did not get the chance to boo him, they can still cheer for him to lay an egg in the playoffs.

2. Michael Conforto (Dodgers)

Somehow, Michael Conforto has turned into a Giants slayer after his two mediocre seasons with the team in 2023 and 2024. He too will try to assist the Dodgers in their effort to win back-to-back World Series titles.

3. Wandy Peralta (Padres)

Keeping it in the division, left-handed reliever Wandy Peralta spent a few seasons with the Giants from 2019 to 2021. Now, he will try to assist the San Diego Padres as they try to make a run in the playoffs.

4. Bryce Johnson (Padres)

Outfielder Bryce Johnson never did much of anything offensively for the Giants, but he got hot and slashed .342/.383/.434 this season for San Diego in 55 games and also gives them speed and strong defense.

5. Zack Littell (Reds)

Zack Littell's most infamous moment as a Giant came when he got into it with Gabe Kapler upon being removed from a game. Since then, he has transformed himself into a solid starter and will look to help the Reds.

6. Lou Trivino (Phillies)

Lou Trivino will have two chances at a ring since he spent time with the Dodgers earlier this season. The Phillies are his third team this year after the Giants and Dodgers so hopefully he can pitch well against LA if those teams end up squaring off at some point.

7. Taylor Rogers (Cubs)

There was a chance for both Rogers twins to make the playoffs, but the collapse by the Mets prevented that from happening. Still, the left-handed Rogers twin, who was technically on four different teams this year, has a chance to make a playoff run with the Chicago Cubs.

8. Camilo Doval (Yankees)

Former Giants closer Camilo Doval got off to a very rough start with the Yankees after he got traded at the deadline. He calmed things down a bit but still had a 4.82 ERA in New York. He will now try to help the Pinstripes make it back to the World Series.

9. Austin Slater (Yankees)

Slater has not done much since he was traded from the White Sox to the Yankees, but he figures to be in the lineup for New York's playoff opener since it will be against a left-handed starter. If there is a rematch between the Dodgers and Yankees in the World Series, maybe he can continue his ownage of Clayton Kershaw.

10. Kyle Harrison (Red Sox)

It took a while for Kyle Harrison to make his debut with Boston after coming over in the Rafael Devers trade, but he has pitched well for the Red Sox. He may end up playing a big role in the playoffs for the team with Lucas Giolito being left off the roster due to injury.

11. Jakob Junis (Guardians)

Right-handed reliever Jakob Junis was a solid pitcher for the Giants and he has continued to pitch well for the Cleveland Guardians with a 2.97 ERA on the year.

12. Kevin Gausman (Blue Jays)

Kevin Gausman returned to form in San Francisco and cashed in with a big pay day in Toronto. He had a 3.59 ERA in 31 starts this season and will look to turn in some good starts for Toronto after they earned a first-round bye.

13. Tyler Heineman (Blue Jays)

Switch-hitting catcher Tyler Heineman spent one season with San Francisco in 2020 where he was actually teammates with Gausman when Buster Posey opted out. He has seemed to find a home in Toronto and had a solid season for the Blue Jays, slashing .289/.361/.416 in 64 games.

14. Luke Jackson (Mariners)

Giants fans may remember how bad reliever Luke Jackson was for the Giants in 2024. The team eventually moved on from him but he has landed with the Seattle Mariners and had a 2.38 ERA in ten appearances on the year with Seattle.

15. Luis Castillo (Mariners)

Now, this one is a little bit of a stretch because Luis Castillo never pitched for the Giants, but he was in the organization and was included in the Casey McGehee trade. He eventually turned into a solid starter and had a good year with Seattle as he had a 3.54 ERA in 32 starts.

Giants fans do not have much to root for this October other than the Dodgers losing but maybe some familiar faces can help bring about the demise of LA's playoff hopes.
