Now that we know the Giants are in the playoffs, well playoff, we can predict what their Wild Card roster will be. What’s interesting is that you can change the roster between the Wild Card game and the NLDS. That means you don’t have to place Tim Hudson, Ryan Vogelsong, or Jake Peavy on the roster unless you wanted an experienced long man out of the bullpen. Here’s my guess:
Starting Pitchers:
Relief Pitchers:
In 125 innings pitched on the road this season, Madison Bumgarner has a 2.22 ERA with 118 strikeouts, 19 walks, 0.98 WHIP, and three complete games
Hunter Strickland (Click here to see this bad, bad man throw fire)
Catchers:

Infielders:

Outfielders:
* Can play outfield/infield
Reasoning:
Nine relief pitchers might even be overkill for one game, so I used the final roster spot for a possible pinch runner in Brown. This gives Bochy six guys off the bench. If Morse can’t go you will likely see Adam Duvall take that spot.
Preview:
Bumgarner (18-10, 2.98 ERA, 5.1 WAR) @ TBD
Right now, the Cardinals are one game in front of the Pirates with two games to go. St. Louis can clinch the NL Central with a win today and a Pittsburgh loss. That would mean Gerit Cole could go for the Buccos in the Wild Card game. If it is still a one game difference going into the final day of the season, Cole and Adam Wainwright will be used, making them unavailable for the Wild Card game. Vance Worley, Edinson Volquez could go for the Pirates Wednesday against the Giants if Cole is used Sunday and Michael Wacha would likely go for the Cardinals if they are in the Wild Card game.
The Giants are just hoping to see a guy not named Wainwright or Cole pitching Wednesday and preferably play a slumping Cardinals team.
