MLB Pipeline published its updated farm system rankings last week, with the SF Giants deemed the most improved system. This week, they put together a list of the top-10 organizations based on infield prospects, and the Giants came in at No. 8.

The only other NL West team to be included in this mix was the Arizona Diamondbacks, who came in one spot ahead of the Giants.

The top prospects tend to carry a lot of weight with these rankings. However, the Giants and Diamondbacks not only have good talent but also depth around the infield. Jordan Lawler, Tommy Troy, and Tyler Locklear were some of the prospects mentioned for Arizona's write-up.

Bryce Eldridge, Josuar Gonzalez, Jhonny Level, and Gavin Kilen were mentioned in the write-up for the Giants. MLB Pipeline highlights just how young some of the Giants' top infield prospects are, as Kilen is the oldest of the group at just 21 years of age.

Eldridge is the closest of the group. He has spent much of the year in Triple-A, and could be an option to help the Giants before the season concludes. He went on a tear at the plate earlier this month. Overall, he is hitting .236/.303/.491 (94 wRC+) with 12 home runs, 43 RBI, and 20 runs in 185 plate appearances with the Sacramento River Cats.

These are solid numbers for someone his age in the Pacific Coast League, but he is not forcing his way onto the roster at this point. Plus, his defense at first base remains a work in progress.

Kilen and Level are currently with the San Jose Giants. Kilen was this year's first-round pick by the Giants out of the University of Tennessee. He has the pedigree of a prospect who could move quickly through the system given his success against SEC and ACC pitching in college.

Level had a strong season in the Arizona Complex League earlier this summer. Once the season concluded, he moved up to San Jose in a wave of promotions.

Lastly, Josuar Gonzalez is nearing the finish line in his first full season as a pro. He has put up an .855 OPS with four home runs and 24 RBI in 225 plate appearances in the Dominican Summer League. This includes 30 steals in 35 opportunities. The switch-hitter was one of the top prospects in this year's free agency cycle.
