Spring training is starting soon for the SF Giants and they have revealed a new look for Cactus League play. For many years the Giants would wear black uniforms in spring training, but they are going with orange jerseys and new hats this spring.
The Giants shared the new look on social media and it can be viewed here. The jersey appears to be similar to the one the Giants typically wear on Friday nights during home games at Oracle Park in the regular season. The hat is also new as it features some cacti and flowers next to the SF logo in a nod to the Cactus League. Fans already seem to like the new caps.
SF Giants drop new look for 2026 spring training
It is a nice departure for the Giants especially since the black jerseys they have worn the last few spring trainings are the same ones they typically wear on Saturday home games at Oracle Park. The orange look could also be a nice nod to new manager Tony Vitello who certainly became accustomed to wearing orange during his time at the University of Tennessee.
The Giants have cycled through several jersey changes in the last few seasons. They retired their polarizing white and orange City Connects after the 2024 season and debuted their new, purple-infused ones in 2025 which were equally polarizing.
While the new jerseys will provide a new look on the field in spring training, what really matters on the field is how new players like Luis Arraez and Harrison Bader look. Keeping the starting staff healthy through the spring will also be of utmost importance.
All eyes will ultimately be on Tony Vitello though. There have to be nerves entering camp without any professional coaching experience, but he seems like a charismatic enough guy to win the players over pretty quickly.
He certainly won players over at Tennessee and turned that program into a juggernaut, but doing the same thing at the big league level is not going to be easy at all.
Thankfully, his coaching staff has been finalized and he will have experienced voices around him like Ron Washington and Jayce Tingler who should help make the adjustment to the big leagues a little bit easier.
The Giants are turning a new leaf with their new manager, so it only seems fitting that they have some new spring training jerseys to go along with him.
