We finally have a full look at the new SF Giants Fiesta Gigantes uniforms which will be worn at Giants home games on Saturdays this season. The Giants shared the new uniforms on social media for the first time so we now see what they will look like.
Before this official announcement, each individual piece was leaked out and fans did not take too kindly to the new gray caps that are part of this ensemble.
The leaked caps can be viewed on social media here. They are gray and black with a new "SF" logo that has an orange trim around it. They are definitely a new look, and some fans in the replies were less than enthused.
SF Giants fans are not in love with new 'Fiesta Gigantes' caps
One wrote: "Legit the worst logo I’ve ever seen. Why change what is a top 5 logo to that?"
Another chimed in: "I dig the new Gigantes jerseys quite a bit (I’m a sucker for the 1983-1993 logo/wordmark), but these caps suck. They look like an alt for the San Jose Giants."
Maybe the look will grow on fans over time, but it is definitely different from the typical home uniforms and is definitely a departure from the Saturday home uniforms the Giants have worn in past seasons which where black with an orange "SF" logo on the front with their black and orange caps.
The jerseys have not been quite as reviled. Some fans like the fact that the "Gigantes" logo on the front is reminiscent of the font from the 1980s. Others have complimented the unique piping on the trim and number of the jersey so there are some cool aspects fans can get behind.
Prior to Wednesday, the only full look we had seen of the entire uniform came courtesy of the video game MLB The Show 26.
Fittingly, the Giants are set to debut the new uniforms when they return to Oracle Park next week for two exhibition games against the Sultanes de Monterrey, a Mexican League team, ahead of the regular season opener against the New York Yankees on Wednesday.
A lot of fans could not care less what the Giants wear so long as they win. Fans had to get used to seeing purple on a Giants uniform last season with the new City Connect look so eventually fans are just going to have to adjust even if they do not like every aspect of the uniform.
