The SF Giants wisely decided to sell at the trade deadline, getting rid of relievers Tyler Rogers and Camilo Doval as well as outfielder Mike Yastrzemski. Let's take a look at how these former Giants are faring so far with their new teams.

Checking in on how SF Giants trade deadline castoffs are faring with new teams

Camilo Doval

Camilo Doval's first outing with the New York Yankees did not go great. He blew the save, partly due to an error made behind him, which is not the best way to introduce yourself to Yankees fans.

His overall numbers since being traded are not great as he has a 6.43 ERA in seven innings pitched. He has already allowed six walks which is a troubling sign since that is what got him into trouble during his struggles last season.

He can still right the ship, but so far Yankees fans must not be too impressed with the former Giants flamethrower.

Tyler Rogers

Tyler Rogers was a model of consistency for the Giants for so many years before he was traded to the New York Mets. Thus far, he has continued to be solid with his new team.

In 8 and 1/3 innings pitched, Rogers has allowed just two earned runs for a 2.16 ERA. Unfortunately for him, the Mets have somehow been even worse than the Giants since the trade deadline.

It is possible Rogers could return to the Giants in the offseason with him being a free agent, but many teams would likely be interested in a reliever as solid as him.

Mike Yastrzemski

Long-time Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski was traded to the Kansas City Royals and hit a home run in his first at-bat with his new team. Since then, the numbers have not been incredible but he has still done some solid things for the Royals.

In 14 games and 42 at-bats with Kansas City, he is slashing .190/.308/.500 with three home runs and six runs batted in. Those numbers are not great, but he is at least providing some early power with his new club.

Yastrzemski recently came to the defense of his former teammate Rafael Devers in an interview so he is not done being a good Giant just yet. He too is a free agent after the season so a reunion could potentially be in the cards.

These former Giants are still finding their footing with their new clubs, but we will see how these trades end up looking by the end of the season depending on how well the teams fare and whether they can make the playoffs.
