The SF Giants have looked strong on the field in spring training thus far. Perhaps more importantly, it sounds like the team is beginning to gel and come together off the field as well which bodes well for the team's chemistry this season.

In a recent appearance on KNBR, shortstop Willy Adames spoke about the kinship he has already developed with center fielder Jung Hoo Lee. The clip from the video can be watched here.

In the clip, Adames says of Lee: "Every day he gives me a big hug and I'm like 'Man, we're really bonding.' He's got some swag too and I love that. He already told me like 'we gotta dress nice on the road' and I was like, say no more!"

Even though there is a language barrier between the two players, it makes total sense that the two would get along. Both seem incredibly friendly and they do play the game in a similar fashion. Neither is afraid to play with a little swagger and flair out on the field which should make them both a lot of fun to watch for the Giants this upcoming season.

Adames' comments on Lee speak to what manager Bob Melvin noted earlier in camp about the team chemistry the Giants have this year compared to last year. Last season, the Giants had not yet signed two of their most important players in Matt Chapman and Blake Snell until spring training was already underway.

This time around, the Giants made their two big offseason additions, Adames and Justin Verlander, well before camp began. That has allowed the team to come together more at the start of camp whereas last season it took longer for that chemistry to develop, if it ever did.

Chemistry is very important, but it is obviously also important what Adames and Lee will bring on the field. If early results are any indication, with the stipulation that spring training stats often mean very little, they are on the right track. Lee has looked stellar at the plate and there do not seem to be any lingering effects from his shoulder injury last year. Adames blasted his first homer in a Giants uniform earlier this week and he has looked solid overall.

The Giants are counting on both Lee and Adames to be key contributors for them which is why they signed them both to long-term deals. The fact that they are already getting along is a good sign and will only make them easier to root for this season.
