On Thursday, the SF Giants published its spring breakout roster for 2026. A trio of top international signings, including Josuar Gonzalez, Jhonny Level, and Luis Hernández, headline a group that will take on the Cincinnati Reds spring breakout roster on March 19.

That game will take place at Scottsdale Stadium. The spring breakout games are a relatively new addition in baseball, but the emerging popularity has convinced baseball to expand it into a tournament starting in 2027. That should give fans more time to see some of these prospects before they inevitably join the major league club.

Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area has the full list of prospects who will be participating in this game. Bryce Eldridge, Parks Harber, Gavin Kilen, and Carlos Gutierrez are some of the position players listed. That roster includes Keyner Martinez, Jacob Bresnahan, Argenis Cayama, and Luis De La Torre on the pitching side.

There is a good chance that De La Torre, Cayama, and Martinez begin the season with the San Jose Giants. Given that De La Torre is a Rule 5 pick next winter, there is a case to move him a bit quicker if he performs well. The southpaw pitching prospect popped up last summer after seeing a notable spike with his fastball velocity, and he will be experimenting with a splitter this season.

While there is plenty of talent on the roster, this will be one of the first times that Jhonny Level, Josuar Gonzalez, and Luis Hernández share the field. The Giants have done well in recent years on the international market, and they hope that all three of these prospects can make an impact sooner rather than later.

Level signed for just under $1 million in 2024 out of Venezuela. He has quickly become one of the Giants' top prospects. In 2025, he posted a .797 OPS with 12 home runs and 50 RBI in 408 plate appearances split between two lower levels. Level will likely return to San Jose to start this season.

On the other hand, it has been reported that the Giants will take the uncommon approach with Hernández by having him skip the Dominican Summer League (DSL). Where he begins the year will depend on how well he performs in minor league spring training. He could start the year in the Arizona Complex League, along with Gonzalez. In that scenario, they would need to split time at shortstop.

Gonzalez is coming off a strong year in the DSL, where he posted an .859 OPS with four home runs, 24 RBI, and 52 runs in 228 plate appearances. This includes stealing 33 bases in 38 opportunities. Since then, the switch-hitting infielder has quickly risen in the prospect rankings.
