The SF Giants made a series of minor league promotions this week. Top outfield prospect Bo Davidson led the way, earning a promotion to Double-A, per a team announcement.

As the announcement also notes, Scott Bandura will be joining Davidson with the Richmond Flying Squirrels. The moves leave the Euegen Emeralds pretty bare on outfielders.

Davidson, Bandura, Jonah Cox, and James Tibbs III have all seen significant time in the outfield with Eugene this season. Of courese, Tibbs III was included in the trade with the Boston Red Sox to acquire Rafael Devers.

In a corresponding move, the Giants also moved Jakob Christian up to Eugene. Christian has split time at first base and in the outfield this year, but Eugene still has a need in the outfield grass.

That should be figured out in the next day or so, as someone like Dakota Jordan is another player deserving of a promotion. The good news is that three Giants minor leaguers are on the move.

Bo Davidson was one of the best hitters in the Northwest League, slashing .309/.412/.507 (148 wRC+) with 10 home runs, 56 RBI, and 53 runs in 335 plate appearances. His 148 wRC+ was second among qualified hitters in the Northwest League.

The left-handed bat demonstrated above-average raw power last season and continued that trend this year, as 30 of 87 hits with Eugene went for extra bases.

Scott Bandura will be joining Davidson in Richmond. The speedy outfielder is hitting .307/.399/.439 (132 wRC+) with seven home runs, 45 RBI, and 65 runs in 373 plate appearances with Eugene. He has also swiped 30 bases in 32 opportunities, giving him one of the highest success rates in the minors.

Jakob Christian will be assume one of the roster spots left by Davidson and Bandura. The right-handed bat spent the first part of the season with a strong San Jose Giants team. There could be a case made that many of Christian's teammates of deserving of a promotion as well.

Christian registered a .272/.355/.460 (121 wRC+) with 10 home runs, 60 RBI, and 56 runs in 318 plate appearances. He does have a high strikeout rate at 28.3 percent, and his 66.2 percent contact rate is a number to monitor. Nevertheless, Christian possesses some of the best combination of raw and game power of any Giants prospect in the system.
