The SF Giants published its list on non-roster invitees earlier this week. That group is headlined by top outfield prospect Bo Davidson.

The Giants also made a surprise addition by signing veteran pitcher Michael Fulmer to a minor league deal. Presumably, he will be competing for a role in the bullpen.
There is a case to be made for a handful of non-roster pitchers to make the club with a strong spring. This is due partly to the the lack of depth and defined roles within that unit at the moment. Will Bednar, Trent Harris, Nick Margevicius, and Gregory Santos will be joining Fulmer in that completion.
Veteran backstop Eric Haase leads the group of non-roster catchers. He will compete with Daniel Susac and Jesús Rodríguez for the backup catcher role.
Parks Harber and Nate Furman are among the infielders to receive camp invites. It is going to be tough for anyone from this group to win a spot on the Opening Day roster, but they still can make a favorable impression on the coaching staff.
Last month, Kyle Haines joined the Splash Hit Territory podcast and highlighted Bo Davidson as a prospect who could help the Giants as soon as this season. By the way, that is a new podcast and I would highly recommend you give it a listen.
Davidson was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2023 out of Caldwell Community College in Hudson, North Carolina. Since then, he has established himself as the best outfield prospect in the Giants’ farm system, and even appeared on Baseball America’s top-100 prospect list. That is an impressive source of recognition for someone without a draft pedigree.
The left-handed bat posted an .844 OPS with 18 home runs and 70 RBI in 522 plate appearances split across two levels. This includes a .713 OPS with eight home runs and 14 RBI in 187 plate appearances at Double-A at the end of the year.
Davidson is a good runner, with the ability to steal some bases and cover ground in center field. Plus, he has a good arm. Davidson has a good combination of power, speed, and defense to be able to impact the game in a few different ways.
The Giants have experienced some turnover on their outfield depth chart, opening up a path for someone like Davidson to move up sooner rather than later. In the interim, Luis Matos, Drew Gilbert, Grant McCray, and Jerar Encarnación will compete to make the roster. The chances of Davidson breaking camp with the club are low, but he will get a chance to show what he can do.
