The SF Giants already made a huge addition to their lineup by trading for Rafael Devers last month. However, they are seen as a good fit for yet another slugger who would transform their lineup in Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suárez.

Jeff Passan of ESPN recently ranked MLB's top 50 trade candidates and Suárez tops the list as the best player out there who could be traded. New York Post reporter Jon Heyman reported the Diamondbacks look to be in sell mode ahead of the trade deadline and Suárez looks likely to be dealt.

SF Giants identified as good fit for Diamondbacks slugger

Passan identified six teams who would be the best fit for Suárez: the New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, Seattle Mariners, Milwaukee Brewers, Detroit Tigers, and San Francisco Giants.

Really, every contending team would be a conceivable fit for the slugging third baseman. This season he is slashing .252/.325/.593 with 36 home runs and 86 runs batted in. That kind of offensive production would fit right in on any team.

Of course, it would be a bit of a weird fit for the Giants since they already have a third baseman in Matt Chapman. The Giants would not move Chapman to a different position, so Suárez would have to move somewhere else to make things work.

Really, the only infield position still up for grabs is second base. Casey Schmitt has done a pretty nice job there as of late, but it is definitely a position that can be upgraded. Another option would be to make Suárez the designated hitter with Rafael Devers now playing first base.

No matter what, if the Giants were to somehow acquire Suárez they would make it work and find a way to get him into the lineup. His bat is so valuable that even if he was below average defensively it would more than likely be worth it.

The Giants are far from the only team who would have any interest in the slugger. Other teams are rumored to be making a strong push and the Giants may be forced to give up more in a potential deal since it would be with an NL West rival.

Yet, we saw how aggressive president of baseball operations Buster Posey was willing to be to land Devers. Even though the Giants have arguably more pressing needs ahead of the trade deadline, landing Suárez would be a huge move and could transform the NL playoff picture.
