The SF Giants are set to take on the Seattle Mariners in Cactus League play today. The game will start at 12:10 PM Pacific Standard Time and will be played at Peoria Stadium, the spring training home for the Mariners. Here are the starting pitchers and lineup.

SF Giants probable pitchers & starting lineup vs. Seattle Mariners, February 27

Who will be the starting pitcher for the Giants?

Landen Roupp will start the game for the Giants. He started the team's spring opener and looked really solid, pitching two scoreless innings and striking out three batters.

Roupp is one of several pitchers vying for the fifth spot in the starting rotation. Although Kyle Harrison and Hayden Birdsong are probably ahead of him just given the fact they were in the rotation for most of last year, Roupp is a legitimate candidate. He looked strong in the rotation at the end of the 2024 season, so if he has a strong spring he could definitely be in the rotation to begin the year and could also serve as a long reliever.

Some relievers to keep an eye on who could follow Roupp are lefties Antonio Jimenez, who manager Bob Melvin recently praised, and Raymond Burgos who the Giants re-signed in the offseason. There is going to be a competition for the other lefty spot in the bullpen alongside Erik Miller so every pitch those two pitchers throw could impact their chance to make the Opening Day roster.

Who will be the starting pitcher for Seattle?

Bryce Miller will take the ball for Seattle. The 26-year-old had a great 2024 for the Mariners. In 31 games he had a 2.94 ERA in 180 and 1/3 innings pitched as well as a phenomenal WHIP of 0.98. He definitely looks to be one of the stronger pitchers in their rotation and will provide a good test for the San Francisco lineup.

What will the Giants lineup look like?

Speaking of, here is what the Giants lineup will look like tomorrow.

SF Giants lineup vs. Mariners February 27 (subject to change)

1. 1B LaMonte Wade Jr. (L)

2. DH Marco Luciano (R)

3. CF Jung Hoo Lee (L)

4. RF Luis Matos (R)

5. C Sam Huff (R)

6. 2B Brett Wisely (L)

7. 3B Casey Schmitt (R)

8. LF Wade Meckler (L)

9. SS Christian Koss (R)

Schmitt helped out his cause of trying to make the Opening Day roster as a backup middle infielder with his impressive opposite field home run in yesterday's game. He is competing against Wisely for that spot so both have a chance to improve their standing.

Some reserves we could see in the game include Bryce Eldridge, Jake Lamb, Grant McCray, Sergio Alcantara, Osleivis Basabe, and David Villar.

We will see if Roupp can continue to throw the ball well and if players on the bubble can stand out as they try to make the team. The game will be available on TV via the Mariners feed and will also be available on the radio through MLB Audio.
