SF Giants legend Hunter Pence is in the broadcast booth calling the games between the Giants and Dodgers this weekend, and on Thursday night his nephew, Striker, was behind home plate taking in the action in Los Angeles.

It turns out that Striker, who is 16 and already stands at 6-foot-6, has a pretty mean fastball that touches triple digits which is remarkable for someone his age. He already has people talking and it is not just because of his last name.

SF Giants legend Hunter Pence's nephew is already turning heads

Duane Kuiper and Hunter Pence talked about Striker a bit on the broadcast and about how awestruck he was to meet Kuiper after hearing him call games so often over the years. Clearly, Striker is a big Giants fan after his uncle was such a great Giant for so many years as he was growing up.

Kuiper joked about how he felt like such a little guy compared to Striker who is 6-foot-6 and Hunter who is 6-foot-4. It is clear some tall genes run in the Pence family which definitely bodes well for Striker's future.

He is already gaining the attention of scouts even though he will not be eligible for the MLB Draft until 2028. If he stays on his current trajectory it would not be at all surprising if teams want to draft him once he becomes eligible.

We may be getting ahead of ourselves, but imagining the Giants drafting Pence would be pretty amazing given his uncle's reputation in the city of San Francisco and with the Giants organization.

Hunter has stayed heavily involved with the Giants since he retired a few years ago. He calls games for NBC Sports Bay Area throughout the year and recently even composed an original song about the 2025 Giants because he is Hunter Pence and that is what he does.

He is eligible for Cooperstown on next year's Hall of Fame ballot, but even though he is likely to come up short he can at least feel good about his induction into the Hall of Pretty Good.

We will see how young Striker progresses over the years, but it is cool to see how much raw talent he has and with Hunter as a mentor who knows how far he could go.
