Bresnahan completed five scoreless innings with eight strikeouts and zero walks in a 5-1 win over the Rawhide. He allowed just one hit while collected his sixth win of the season.

San Jose has been a powerhouse in the California League. They already clinched a playoff spot after securing a title in the first half of the season. With a 71-37 record, they are currently the best team in the league. The next best team is the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes with a 60-48 record.

San Jose's offense leads the league with a .772 OPS while averaging 6.44 runs per game. With a 3.32 ERA, the pitching staff has comfortably been the best. The next best pitching staff is the Fresno Grizzlies with a 4.30 ERA.

Some of the better hitters have already been promoted. This includes Jakob Christian, Drew Cavanaugh, Maui Ahuna, and Zander Darby. San Jose has filled out those holes with promotions from the Arizona Complex League roster and the 2025 MLB draft.

Bresnahan has put himself in the conversation as one of the best pitching prospects in the Giants organization. He has anchored San Jose's rotation, along with Niko Mazza and Hunter Dyrden.

Bresnahan got off to a slow start in April, but has improved as the season has progressed. This includes earning California League Pitcher of the Month honors for June. During that month, Bresnahan posted a 0.95 ERA with 25 strikeouts against eight walks in 19 innings.

The southpaw pitching prospect has been nearly as good in August, recording a 1.04 ERA in two starts so far. A good sign of development is whether the player's performance is improving as the season progresses. For Bresnahan, the answer is a resounding yes.

On the mound, Bresnahan has a loose delivery from the left side and gets plenty of extension from his release point. His fastball sits in the mid-90's, but it plays plays up, as it rides up in the zone. He mixes in a mid-80's changeup that gets some late, fading action.

The 20-year-old pitcher also throws a low-80's sweeper, but it lacks consistency. The development of this pitch, along with improved control, will be an important next step in his development. However, the 2025 season has shown plenty of promise so far.
