SF Giants legend Barry Bonds pretty much left an indelible mark on every ballpark he ever played in. That includes Camden Yards, the home of the Baltimore Orioles which is where the Giants are currently playing.

Back in 2004, Barry hit two huge homers at the historic ballpark in what was his only series ever facing the Orioles at Camden Yards.

Bonds hit a homer in the first game of the series and the third game of the series which, perhaps not coincidentally, were the two games the Giants won in that series.

He had five hits, two homers, and walked six times in the series, including five times in the second game of the series which went 12 innings.

Basically, it was a pretty typical ho hum series for Bonds which just speaks to how great he was. For a lot of players, that would be their best series of the year if not the best of their career. For Bonds it was just normal.

2004 was the final of his seven MVP seasons and finished a string of five consecutive seasons in which he won the award. The guy was truly on a different planet and did things that are really even difficult to comprehend nowadays.

Bonds made some headlines a few weeks ago as he was an analyst for Netflix’s Opening Night coverage between the Giants and New York Yankees. He said that he almost signed with the Yankees when he was a free agent which obviously means he would have had a lot more trips to Camden Yards if that came to pass.

Both Giants fans and Orioles fans have to be pretty happy that didn’t happen. Baltimore only got a brief taste of Barry and after that three game series they surely had their fill.

The Giants did their best to honor the Home Run King on Friday night as they launched two homers, one by shortstop Willy Adames and one by right fielder Jung Hoo Lee, on their way to a 6-3 victory.

While no one on this current iteration of the Giants can even really be mentioned in the same breath as Bonds, it’s fun to look back on how the legend tormented pretty much every fanbase in the league at least once during his incredible career.
