There has been a lot of discourse recently about baseball fans giving balls to kids or taking balls away from kids after an incident in Philadelphia. However, there was a wholesome moment at Monday's SF Giants game that restores one's faith in humanity.
A fan in the upper deck got a foul ball and immediately gave it to a little girl a few seats down which prompted her to smile and raise the ball triumphantly as it appears her father lifted her up in celebration of the moment. It can be viewed below:

SF Giants fan has wholesome moment giving ball to little girl
It was a great moment and is a reminder of what baseball should be about. That is a sweet memory that could stay with that little girl for the rest of her life and made everyone in that section happy and feel good. The fan that gave the ball up did exactly what should be done in that situation and should be commended.
Paradoxically, in Philadelphia recently at a Phillies game a woman who has been dubbed "Phillies Karen" made a scene because she felt a ball in the stands was essentially hers and that a man stole it from her to give it to his son.
The video shows that is not the case and the woman has been absolutely flayed on social media which seems a bit excessive even though she was clearly in the wrong. The father involved in the incident has asked that people lay off the woman which is the right move. Maybe Phillies Karen was having a rough day or wanted to give the ball to her kid.
Nonetheless, the moment threw into stark relief that baseball is a game and is meant to be fun. People can get into it over foul balls but it is a reminder that you do not want to be the person requesting that you rip a ball away from your child and give it to them. You are never the winner in a scenario like that.
Of course, one does not want to generalize and say that this sort of behavior is befitting of a city like Philadelphia which has a reputation for fans being less than kind. There are surely plenty of good-hearted Philadelphia sports fans.
Yet, on the whole Giants fans do seem to have a good fanbase and fans at Oracle Park tend to treat each other right. It takes a lot to get Giants fans to boo their own team and even if Mookie Betts thinks Giants fans are mean, the video of that man giving the little girl the ball is direct evidence to the contrary.
