This is not a good look.

The SF Giants lost yet another stinker of a game as they got beat 8-1 to the San Diego Padres on Wednesday night. There was a seemingly tense moment in the dugout between shortstop Willy Adames and manager Bob Melvin which may seal the manager's fate.

The broadcast on NBC Sports Bay Area picked up the moment in the top of the second inning as Adames was very animatedly talking to Melvin about something:

Seemingly tense moment in SF Giants dugout does not look great for Bob Melvin

There are much better lip-readers out there, but just going off body language and facial expressions it did not seem to be a super positive interaction between Melvin and Adames. The shortstop seems somewhat upset and Melvin is not really responding to him, eventually turning away from Adames.

This could be about any number of things potentially. Maybe Adames was upset about a call from the umpire or something the opposing team had done. Yet, just going off the feel of the interaction it is also possible that Adames was venting some sort of frustration he had with Melvin himself.

If that is the case, it is certainly not a great look for Melvin. Adames is one of the undisputed leaders on the team who is known for being positive even in the most trying of circumstances. To see him seemingly direct negativity towards Melvin in that way is reflective of how the season is going and may tell us something about Melvin's job security.

Other players have been vocal in their support of Melvin recently. Some misinterpreted comments have even gotten one player in some hot water. Yet, maybe there are others in the clubhouse who do not feel as strongly for the skipper.

Melvin's job security is going to be a big topic of conversation coming down the stretch for the Giants. With how this season has gotten out of hand after starting off so strong, naturally there is going to be finger-pointing at the manager.

President of baseball operations Buster Posey is going to have a tough call to make on whether to retain Melvin if this season finishes with a whimper which, based on recent results, it seems likely to do.

If Adames' frustration in the dugout was directed at Melvin and things like this continue to happen, it is tough to see how the Giants can keep Melvin as manager. He may be well-respected and have a wealth of experience, but if one of your star players is openly venting like that in the dugout it does not bode well for Melvin keeping his job.

There is still a long way to go this season and we obviously do not know all of the details of what transpired in the dugout between Adames and Melvin, but if the tenor of the conversation matched the perception from that video then Melvin could be in trouble.
