Rafael Devers recently made his debut at first base with the SF Giants. He looked solid in his first action there, but his comments about playing in the field versus being a designated hitter have already infuriated Boston Red Sox fans.
Of course, the reason for this anger from Red Sox fans is because Devers publicly refused to play first base while he was still in Boston. Naturally, his about-face since joining the Giants has touched a nerve with fans in Boston as seen below:

Red Sox fans infuriated by Rafael Devers' comments on playing first base with SF Giants
Justice delos Santos of the San Jose Mercury News quoted Devers as saying: "I'm the kind of player that likes to be active, that likes to be on the field. I'd rather be on the field than in the cage hitting all the time just thinking about the next at-bat."
Boston fans will probably roll their eyes at that considering Devers seemed to only want to be a designated hitter this season while he was with the team after they moved him off third base with the signing of Alex Bregman in the offseason.
They have every right to be annoyed, but the Giants are now the beneficiary of Devers being more selfless and more of a team player. Having him as an option at first base could really change things for the Giants and could also mean less playing time for some players.
The Giants now have more flexibility with their lineup. They can utilize Wilmer Flores in the designated hitter spot with Devers playing first base which should strengthen the lineup especially since Flores thrived as the team's DH prior to the team trading for Devers.
Plus, Devers has been absolutely on fire in the second half so far. It seems the All-Star break has done wonders for him as he has recorded ten hits in the six game since the break including two doubles and the two home runs he hit on Wednesday against the Atlanta Braves.
It is great to see him finally awaken at the plate after struggling for most of his tenure with the Giants thus far. The Giants are going to need him to be the All-Star version of himself in the second half if they are going to have a legitimate shot at the playoffs.
Boston fans may be angry about Devers' willingness to play first base now, but Giants fans should count themselves lucky and hope his hot streak continues.
