The 2026 MLB Draft will be July 11-13 and the SF Giants will have two draft picks in the first 30 selections. They got fortunate to win the No. 4 overall pick in the lottery and they just acquired the No. 29 overall pick from the Cleveland Guardians in the Patrick Bailey trade.

It’s a big draft for president of baseball operations Buster Posey and the front office. The Giants' farm system is improving but a team can never have enough promising young talent.

Trading Bailey away for draft capital seemed to be a minor admission that the Giants are thinking a little more about the future so they need to capitalize on that decision.

So who are the Giants going to take with those two picks? Let’s take our best guess.

Projecting who SF Giants will select with first two picks of 2026 MLB Draft

No. 4 pick - RHP Jackson Flora, UCSB

Right-handed pitcher Jackson Flora would make a lot of sense for the Giants. The organization could use more promising young pitchers as they already have a number of super promising young shortstops.

Flora is a Bay Area native as he was born in Walnut Creek and went to high school in Pleasanton. He’s currently pitching for the University of Santa Barbara and is absolutely dealing this season. He’s got a strong fastball in the high-90s and great command so he’s got the kind of arm that’s easy to get excited about.

Keith Law of The Athletic has the Giants taking Flora and so does FanSided in its first mock draft projection so others definitely think Flora could end up going to San Francisco.

The last time the Giants drafted a pitcher with a top-10 pick was Zack Wheeler in 2009 with the No. 6 overall pick and the last time before that was Tim Lincecum. So if the Giants do end up drafting Flora at No. 4, no pressure!

No. 29 pick - OF Trevor Condon, HS

Condon is just 18 years old and is about to finish high school, but he seems like he was built in a lab to appeal to both Posey and Giants manager Tony Vitello.

Condon is a Georgia kid just like Posey and he is committed to the University of Tennessee having been recruited by Vitello. Maybe the Giants could draft him and talk him into signing with them rather than joining the Vols.

He’s known for his speed and contact skills and has even drawn comparisons to current Giant Drew Gilbert. We know Posey likes guys who make contact and put the ball in play so Condon seems like a natural target at No. 29 overall as he’s projected to go in the top 30 picks.

We’ll see how the draft ends up shaking out, but we will have to wait a couple of months until we know who Posey and Co. will select with the team's two valuable draft picks.
