Snell signed a two-year, $62 million pact with the Giants right before the season began. This included an opt-out clause after the first season. He got off to a slow start but he has been one of the best pitchers in baseball in the second half of the year.
Not surprisingly, the Giants fully expect Snell to opt out and they will have interest in a reunion in the winter. Though, there will be plenty of interest on the market. He has tallied a 3.21 ERA in 20 starts this season.
On the other hand, Beck missed much of the season after undergoing surgery address an aneurysm in his pitching arm. Since his return, he has recorded 1.50 ERA with 11 strikeouts against two walks in 12 innings.
Who is hot?
There were few highlights from Friday night's game. However, Jerar Encarnación blasted his fifth home run of the year in a limited showing with San Francisco. He has posted a .736 OPS in 111 plate appearances with the club. Given that the right-handed bat is out of options, the Giants will need to make a decision on him in the offseason. Encarnación has been a surprising source of offense late in the year.
Who are the SF Giants facing?
The Giants will be facing off against Andre Pallante. Pallante has registered a 3.71 ERA in 28 games with the Cardinals this season. He has pitched to a 6.00 ERA in five career appearances against San Francisco.
