SF Giants probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Philadelphia Phillies, May 27
The Giants encountered the Phillies in arguably the roughest stretch of the season so far. After dropping two of three against the Boston Red Sox, the Giants were swept convincingly by the Phillies on the road. They hope a return home produces more favorable results.
Snell has gotten off to a brutal start with the Giants. He has posted an 11.40 ERA through four starts while missing time on the injured list with an abductor strain. He did have flashes of his old self on the mound against the Pittsburgh Pirates in his last outing. However, his final line was four earned runs in 3.1 innings. He did load the bases in the fourth inning and was replaced by Sean Hjelle, who allowed all three runs to score on a grand slam from Bryan Reynolds.
Who it hot?
Patrick Bailey enjoys hitting in New York. The switch-hitting tallied at least one hit in all three games. This includes a clutch grand slam on Friday night to give the Giants the first win of the series. In total, he had four hits in 12 at-bats with six RBI against the Mets over the weekend.
Who are the SF Giants facing?
The Giants will face off against veteran starter Taijuan Walker. Walker has a 5.06 ERA, 5.83 FIP, 1.53 WHIP, 7.1 K/9, and a 2.10 SO/W rate in five outings this season. This includes an outing against the Giants in which he allowed three earned runs in 6.1 innings in a 5-4 victory over San Francisco.
