The SF Giants are making their last trip to Oakland as they take on the A's for a two-game series. Rookie pitcher Hayden Birdsong is scheduled to start Saturday's game against Oakland.

The Giants dropped the first three games of the series against the Atlanta Braves, but did win the finale thanks to an excellent outing from Logan Webb and plenty of offense led by Grant McCray and Casey Schmitt.

Birdsong has hit a rough patch after an excellent start to his career. That is part of the development process. Going with a young rotation arm will have its ups and downs. However, it is always interesting to see how a rookie responds to a low point. Overall, Birdsong has posted a 5.40 ERA in eight starts with San Francisco. He has allowed 12 earned runs in his last 6.1 innings pitched.

Who it hot?

Grant McCray had a quiet major league debut on Wednesday night, but he checked off a couple of firsts in his second career game. McCray recorded his first hit and RBI on a bunt single, then followed this up with his first career home run on a deep blast to center field against Atlanta.

Who are the SF Giants facing?

The Giants are facing off against Osvaldo Bido. In his second major league season, Bido has registered a 3.92 ERA with 39 strikeouts against 19 walks across 39 innings. He has faced the Giants once before and allowed three earned runs in 2.2 innings.
