The SF Giants squeaked by with a 3-1 win over the Miami Marlins on Friday night. They will look to clinch the series win with rookie pitcher Mason Black taking the rubber.

The Marlins are one of the few soft pockets remaining in the schedule. While the Giants are almost entirely out of the playoff picture, they still need to take advantage of a favorable matchup.

With Robbie Ray on the injured list, Black will get the first crack at the rotation void. The rookie pitcher has struggled to an 8.79 ERA in four sporadic appearances with San Francisco earlier this season. However, the Marlins presents a good matchup for Black to try and turn the corner.

Who is hot?

No one on the Giants is hitting particularly well. Mike Yastrzemski led off for the Giants on Friday night and reached base four times. This included three walks. Leadoff hitters need to see some pitches and the veteran Giants outfielder did just that.

Who are the SF Giants facing?

The Giants are facing off against young righty Edward Cabrera. Cabrera has a 5.60 ERA with 81 strikeouts and 40 walks in 70.2 frames for the Marlins this season. He can be wild at times, so Giants hitters will need to be patient and make him work. Cabrera recorded a 2.25 ERA in two starts against San Francisco in his career.
