This will cap off a three lefty series with Ray, Blake Snell, and Kyle Harrison. Snell completed the team's 18th no-hitter in franchise history on Friday night followed by a rough outing from Harrison yesterday.
Ray is making just his third start since returning from Tommy John surgery. The first two starts were mixed. He was electric in his 2024 debut against the Los Angeles Dodgers, allowing just one earned run with eight strikeouts in five innings of work. The results were not quite as encouraging as he yielded four earned runs in 4.1 frames against the Oakland A's last week.
Who it hot?
Matt Chapman continues to be one of the team's more consistent hitters. He recorded two hits, including a home run, in Saturday's 6-4 loss. Over his last 10 games, the right-handed bat has 14 hits with four doubles, three home runs, and six RBI in 36 at-bats.
Who are the SF Giants facing?
The Giants are facing the dreaded pitcher they have never faced before in Carson Spiers. The fact that they have not seen him previously always presents a tough challenge for the lineup. Spiers is off to a nice start this year, posting a 3.46 ERA in 11 appearances. He has only walked 11 batters in 52 innings, so the Giants will need to put the ball in play.
