5 SF Giants players who will make the 2022 MLB All-Star team
For years now, Brandon Crawford has been one of the best shortstops in baseball, and even with all the young stars such as Fernando Tatis coming through, he manages to get better and better every year.
Crawford already has three All Star game appearances, and after a career year at the plate in 2021 and a hot start to the 2022 season, it seems that there’s no slowing down for one of San Francisco’s favourite sons.
With all the youth coming through for the Giants, it feels like Craw has been rejuvenated, and with a new two year contract, it seems like the end isn’t even in sight for one of the best defensive shortstops the game of baseball has ever seen.
3. Carlos Rodón
In the offseason, many fans had their wish lists for prize free agents to take the Giants a step further in 2022, and while none saw Carlos Rodon coming to the bay, everyone is sure glad it ended up happening.
Through two starts, Rodon has looked absolutely electric, with a consistent 96-97mph fastball and some nasty off-speed pitches, he is the perfect compliment to Webb in this 1-2 punch that could end up being the best in baseball.
It’s still only early, and Rodon has had endurance issues over the years, but if he can give the Giants a quality six innings every time he toes the rubber, the Giants will have two Cy Young candidates, and two All-Stars in their rotation.
