Although they aren't the best team in the majors, the Miami Marlins certainly have some talented names, and the Giants saw that first hand this past weekend as they split a series 2-2 down in Miami.

Their two top pitchers, Pablo Lopez and Sandy Alcantara are probably too rich for Farhan Zaidi, but Jesus Aguilar and Garrett Cooper are potential options to fill the hole that the Giants may have at first base if Brandon Belt can't stay healthy.

It's highly unlikely that the Giants target a big name like Juan Soto at the deadline (as there aren't many names like that out there this year), so cheap names like those above are ones that perfectly fit for Farhan Zaidi.

The Kansas City Royals have seemingly been in purgatory since the glory years of 2014-15 which saw them reach back-to-back World Series, winning in 2015, and the Giants could take advantage of that.

Sure, the outfield right now is solid, but if the Giants looked towards a name like Andrew Benintendi, or perhaps a veteran like Carlos Santana, then they may find themselves as a potential trade partner.

It may not be the most obvious team for the Giants to trade with, given that both those names might come at an expensive price, but Benintendi won a gold glove in 2021 and has potential as an offensive threat, making him a great Farhan project.

4. The SF Giants could look to deal with the Chicago Cubs

After dealing with the Cubs at last year's deadline to land Kris Bryant, the Giants should be looking to the NL Central again, and again this time, they should be targeting one specific player: catcher Wilson Contreras.

After the retirement of Buster Posey, many expected Joey Bart to step in and take that role, but unfortunately, those expectations were just way too high, as the young prospect has struggled to adjust to major league hitting.

Curt Casali has done a good job in that spot since taking over as the Giants main catcher, but Contreras is playing at an MVP level in Chicago, and should definitely be a player the Giants heavily chase at the deadline.

He may turn out to be too expensive, with teams like the Yankees, Blue Jays and Padres, among others all likely in pursuit too, but if the Giants could swing yet another trade with Chicago, it could give this lineup the consistent jolt that it needs.

Despite improvements, the Baltimore Orioles remain one of baseballs worst teams, and the Giants could certainly take advantage, as they look to add a thumping bat, or potentially a starting pitcher to this current squad.

Trey Mancini and John Means may not be the first two names that Giants fans put on their trade wish list, but when you look more into it, they could be the perfect fit.

If Darin Ruf and Brandon Belt can't stay in the lineup and swinging the bat well, then Mancini, especially when surrounded by Belt and Joc Pederson would give this up and down Giants lineup the pop and consistency they desire.

Means isn't as big a target for the Giants, but adding another lefty to the rotation that includes Carlos Rodon, Logan Webb, Alex Wood, and Alex Cobb, as he is a middle-of-the-rotation starter that can be one of the best in baseball when he is on.
