The SF Giants parted ways with a few hard-throwing relievers earlier this season in Camilo Doval and Jordan Hicks. Both players have become reviled by their new teams as their struggles have drawn the ire of both fanbases.
Hicks was traded to Boston as part of the blockbuster Rafael Devers trade. There was some thought that a change of scenery and a more defined role in the bullpen could help him get back on track after he struggled with the Giants, but that is not how things have worked out.
Former SF Giants relievers are reviled on their new teams
In 21 games with Boston, Hicks has an ERA of 8.20 in 18 and 2/3 innings of work. Some Boston fans have even begged the team to use a position player over Hicks. Maybe they are wishing they had snagged Christian Koss in the deal given his great pitching in blowout games this season.
One Red Sox fan on social media put it rather succinctly: "Can’t put him in early, can’t put him in late, can’t put him in when it’s close, can’t put him in when it’s a blowout. There is literally NOTHING positive Jordan Hicks does for this team."
Hicks did just land on the IL with a shoulder injury so Boston fans can take a break from pulling their hair out over the struggling reliever.
Camilo Doval's run with the New York Yankees has not gone much better. Doval has a 4.63 ERA in 14 appearances with the Yankees. He only has one save in three opportunities and just balked in a run against the Houston Astros:

Some Yankees fans have said that Doval has been disgraceful since joining the team.
Giants fans are well-accustomed to the Camilo Doval roller coaster after the great seasons and bad seasons he had in San Francisco. Maybe he will calm things down at some point and get Yankees fans on his side but for right now the notoriously hostile New York fanbase is not happy at all with him.
With San Francisco's bullpen being all shaken up this season, the team probably does not regret moving on from Hicks and Doval given their respective struggles on their new teams. Bullpen depth is still an issue for San Francisco, but they will simply have to make it work with the guys they have.
