The SF Giants celebrated the career of legendary shortstop Brandon Crawford last Saturday. While it was a great celebration and the Giants got a win, J.T. Snow felt it was wrong that former Giants shortstop Rich Aurilia was not there.

Snow took to social media to voice his displeasure. His post can be viewed below:

J.T. Snow thinks SF Giants fumbled Crawford celebration

He followed up that post with another one shortly afterwards:

Basically, Snow believes that Aurilia deserved to be at the Crawford celebration. We do not know the full story on whether Aurilia was invited or not, although it seems most of the former players in attendance were players who were ex-teammates of Crawford's like Buster Posey who could not help but poke a little fun at Crawford.

It is important to note that the Giants were not retiring Crawford's number, 35. That would have been a bit awkward considering Justin Verlander is currently wearing that number after some minor controversy over the issue in the offseason.

If the Giants were indeed retiring the number 35 then it would make sense to have Aurilia in attendance considering he wore that number proudly before Crawford did and made some great memories for Giants fans.

Yet, last Saturday was about Crawford. He helped deliver two World Series championships as a Giant and was one of the best defensive shortstops in all of baseball for most of his career. He deserved to have his own day so it is a little weird for Snow to be stirring the pot like this on social media.

It is not the only instance of him causing some controversy online as of late. Earlier in the season when Seattle Mariners outfielder Victor Robles got badly injured while making a catch in right field, Snow took to social medai to speculate that he was faking the injury to try and ice the Giants.

He later apologized for that post but then confusingly deleted the apology. Perhaps J.T. would benefit from using the screen time function on his phone.

The Giants have been incredibly lucky to have two great shortstops like Aurilia and Crawford play for them in the past twenty-plus years. Both left a huge mark on the Giants and endeared themselves to fans in the process. To say the Giants snubbed Aurilia really just creates an unnecessary distraction and takes away from Crawford's day even though Snow confusingly posted about it almost a week after it occurred.

Nonetheless, let's just consider ourselves lucky that the Giants had two phenomenal shortstops on the team not too long after one another.
