3 SF Giants relievers clearly deserving of All-Star nod with stellar first half

At least one of these elite relievers should be in Atlanta for the All-Star Game.

Fan voting for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game is now underway. The SF Giants have several candidates who could easily earn a nod, but they have three members of their bullpen who all have strong arguments to make it to Atlanta.

San Francisco currently has the best team bullpen ERA in all of major league baseball at 2.36. The incredible production they have gotten from their relievers is a big reason why the team has had a relatively solid start to the season despite their poor offense.

3 SF Giants relievers deserve to be All-Stars based on first half

In particular, three relievers have really shone for San Francisco and have provided manager Bob Melvin with reliable options late in tight, torturous games, a.k.a. the only brand of baseball the Giants know how to play. Let's take a closer look at these three relievers.

1. Camilo Doval

Camilo Doval began the season as a set-up reliever, but based on his stellar performance he supplanted Ryan Walker as the closer. In 29 appearances and 28 innings pitched, Doval has an ERA of 1.61 and has converted eight of eleven save opportunities.

The hard-throwing righty was an All-Star back in 2023 and if he keeps on pitching the way he has to start 2025, he may make his second All-Star team.

2. Tyler Rogers

Eminently reliable and yet seemingly reliably underrated, Tyler Rogers may deserve an All-Star nod more than any other Giants reliever just based on how consistent he has been. Since 2021, Rogers has a 2.79 ERA in 329 and 1/3 innings pitched and has appeared in at least 68 games every season from 2021 to 2024.

Even with his funky delivery and low velocity, Rogers has become one of the best relievers in all of baseball. This season he has a 1.59 ERA in 30 appearances and has primarily served as San Francisco's man in the eighth inning. Rogers certainly deserves an All-Star nod.

3. Randy Rodríguez

Perhaps the most surprising performer for the Giants this year has been Randy Rodríguez. While he was solid for the Giants last season, he has transformed into an elite reliever in 2025. In 27 games and 28 and 1/3 innings pitched, the 25-year-old has a 0.64 ERA.

He just recorded his first career save in a clutch performance against the San Diego Padres and has quickly moved up the pecking order in the bullpen. While Melvin does not view him as a closer just yet, he may be the team's go-to option in the 9th if Doval needs a rest going forward.

It can be tougher for relievers to make the All-Star Game especially if they do not have a ton of name recognition, but all three of these Giants pitchers are very deserving of an All-Star nod. Let's hope at least one of them gets that honor.
