The SF Giants have had a remarkably consistent roster so far this season. Their 26-man roster has not changed at all since Opening Day, but if the organization does decide to promote from the minor leagues look out for these three names.

3 potential SF Giants call-ups on a roll in Triple-A

1. David Villar

It seemed like infielder David Villar's time with the Giants was coming to an end this spring training. He was out of minor league options and there were several infielders ahead of him on the depth chart. Villar himself was even preparing for the possibility that he would not longer be with the organization. The Giants were forced to designate him for assignment, but he cleared waivers and was assigned to Triple-A Sacramento.

He has put up good numbers in Sacramento, slashing .377/.443/.453 with one home run and six runs batted in. If he continues to hit that well he could definitely earn a promotion at some point this season, especially if Christian Koss continues to struggle at the plate for the Giants.

Villar can play first base, second base, and third base so he has some versatility and can be moved around a bit. It would be a nice comeback story to see him earn his way back onto the big league roster, and if he keeps hitting well it could happen sooner rather than later.

2. Carson Seymour

There are several promising young pitchers named Carson in Triple-A Sacramento right now: Carson Whisenhunt, Carson Ragsdale, and Carson Seymour. So far, Seymour has been the preeminent Carson with an ERA of 1.00 through four starts and 18 innings pitched.

He also earned PCL Player of the Week honors recently thanks to his strong start to the season. The 26-year-old seems like he could definitely be called up if the Giants are in need of a fresh arm out of the bullpen. The Giants are currently in the midst of a rough 17-game stretch with no days off so they may be desperate for an arm in the bullpen that can go multiple innings. If so, Seymour seems like a prime candidate for promotion.

3. Sean Hjelle

Another pitcher who could alleviate a worn out bullpen is Sean Hjelle. The tall righty was a solid reliever for San Francisco last season which is why it came as a bit of a surprise that he was not on the Opening Day roster this season.

He has a 1.86 ERA in 9 and 2/3 innings pitched thus far. He is another pitcher who can go more than one inning if need be and take some pressure off the other arms in the bullpen.

A call-up does not necessarily seem imminent for San Francisco, but if an injury arises or the team is in need of an extra bullpen arm then one of these players may be on their way to the big leagues.
