The SF Giants only had one Silver Slugger finalist this season in third baseman Matt Chapman. That is going to have to change next season as the team tries to put together a more consistent and productive lineup.

The finalists for the National League Silver Slugger Awards were announced on Wednesday in an exclusive partnership between Louisville Slugger and FanSided. The history of the Silver Slugger and the voting process can be read about here.

While the Giants have had many winners of the Silver Slugger Award in the team's history, they have not had a winner since 2021 with Buster Posey. The only finalist they have had each of the past two seasons has been Chapman.

SF Giants need more Silver Slugger finalists in 2026

This is emblematic of problems at large with an offense that is far too inconsistent and went through really brutal cold stretches in the 2025 season. The Giants ranked 25th in MLB for team batting average and 17th for runs scored. The team does not need to be an offensive juggernaut to win, but some more consistency would be nice.

If these three Giants can be Silver Slugger finalists next season, that would likely mean the offense is in a much better place.

CF Jung Hoo Lee

Jung Hoo Lee had a very up-and-down 2025 season. He ended up slashing .266/.327/.407 with eight home runs and 55 runs batted in. Those numbers are not awful, but the Giants signed him to that large six-year $113 million contract hoping that batting average would be closer to, or above, .300.

The Giants need Lee to be a more consistent presence in the lineup next season. Maybe he can get better at slapping the ball the other way because when he gets cold it feels like he hits a lot of routine grounders to second base.

1B/DH Rafael Devers

Devers saw a pretty steep drop-off in his numbers after he was traded to the Giants. In 90 games with San Francisco he slashed .236/.347/.460 with 20 home runs and 51 RBI. The power was clearly there but he struck out 116 times which is just too much. He needs to put the ball in play more next season to raise that average and be a Silver Slugger finalist.

SS Willy Adames

Willy Adames really turned things around for the Giants after getting off to a slow start. He finished the season slashing .225/.318/.421 with 30 homers and 87 runs batted in. He broke the infamous Barry Bonds curse by becoming the first Giant since 2004 to hit 30 homers in a season, but the Giants will need him to get off to a stronger start than he did in 2025.

If these three hitters are finalists for the Silver Slugger Award in 2026, do not be surprised if the Giants make it to the playoffs.
