The Silver Slugger finalists for the National League are going to be announced on October 22nd in a partnership with FanSided. In anticipation of this, let's take a look at every SF Giants Silver Slugger winner since the inception of the award.

The Silver Slugger Award was created in 1980 by Louisville Slugger to reward the "best" hitter at each position on the field. The Giants have had a number of winners of this award so let's take a look at every single one since 1980.

Joe Morgan 2B - 1982

Joe had a renaissance year with the Giants, slashing .289/.400/.438 with 14 homers and 61 runs batted in at the age of 38.

Will Clark 1B - 1989

Clark had an incredible season, slashing .333/.407/.546 with 23 homers and 111 RBI. He capped it off with a performance to remember in the NLCS.

Kevin Mitchell OF - 1989

Mitchell hit 47 homers this season on the way to his first, and only, Silver Slugger season with the Giants.

Don Robinson P - 1989

Pitcher Don Robinson hit three homers and had a .185 batting average which was enough to take home the award in 1989.

Matt Williams 3B - 1990

Williams blasted 33 homers that season to take home the award but he is departing the coaching staff with Bob Melvin.

Will Clark 1B - 1991

Barry Bonds OF - 1993

Bonds won many Silver Sluggers but this was his first in his debut season with the Giants. He slashed .336/.458/.677 with 46 homers and 123 RBI.

Robby Thompson 2B - 1993

Thompson slashed .312/.375/.496 with 19 homers and 65 RBI that season.

Matt Williams 3B - 1993

Mark Portugal P - 1994

Portugal hit an impressive .354 that season to take home the honors.

Jeff Kent 2B - 2000

Kent was the NL MVP in 2000 so it is not huge shock that he won the Silver Slugger as he slashed .334/.424/.596 with 33 homers and 125 RBI.

Rich Aurilia SS - 2001

Aurilia took home his first and only Silver Slugger this season slashing .324/.369/.572 with 37 homers and 97 RBI.

Buster Posey C - 2012

There was quite a gap between Bonds and Posey for Silver Slugger Awards and it makes sense that Posey would receive the honor in his MVP season as he came off his brutal leg injury in 2011. He slashed .336/.408/.549 with 24 homers and 103 RBI.

Madison Bumgarner P - 2014

Bumgarner took home his first Silver Slugger this season, slashing .258/.286/.470 with four home runs and 15 RBI.

Buster Posey C - 2014

Brandon Crawford SS - 2015

Crawford showed everyone he was more than just an elite defender this season as he slashed .256/.321/.462 with 21 homers and 84 RBI.

One of the more surprising Silver Slugger winners in Giants history was Donovan Solano who won it during the 60-game season due to the pandemic and slashed .326/.365/.463 with three homers and 29 RBI.
