No, this is not a false alarm, San Francisco Giants fans. The rumors are true. The Giants have called up their top prospect Christian Arroyo.
The news comes at a time when the San Francisco Giants are 6-13 thus having the worst start in the National League and sitting at last place in their division. Before, Giants fans were left wondering if they’re going to see Arroyo makes his debut in a Giants uniform this season. It sounded like the Giants were in no rush having to bring Arroyo up.
Giants general manager, Bobby Evans explained why he wasn’t planning to call Arroyo up. Last Wednesday, Evans was interview by KNBR’s Kevin Fradsen and Larry Kruegar on brining Arroyo. Evans replied,
"“There’s no doubt that the best position for him on the big league club would be third base, but we’ve got a third baseman, to bring a young player up and play him out of position, I think it really works against him developmentally as well as what he can contribute offensively.”"
After being swept by the Colorado Rockies this weekend, it was time for the Giants to make a major change in their lineup.
