SF Giants fans have come to expect shortstop Willy Adames to come in hot with the Gatorade baths since he joined the team last season, but on Thursday night his bath found an unlikely victim in Giants reporter Kylen Mills’ laptop.
You can watch the poor laptop below as it breathes one last time through its cooling vent before meeting an untimely end:

Willy Adames destroys SF Giants reporter's laptop with Gatorade bath
Brutal.
In a way, it was a nice initiation for Mills who is taking over pre and postgame duties on NBC Sports Bay Area from Laura Britt. Mills handled it all in good fun and was joking about it on social media. She even teasingly called Adames a "menace." Let’s hope Adames chips in for a laptop replacement. He can certainly afford it after the Giants gave him a a record-breaking seven-year, $182 million deal in 2024.
My laptop is cooked. 😂 https://t.co/n04QguAHQJ

Adames’ Gatorade baths have become the stuff of legend and they have become such a big thing that the Giants gave out Adames bobble heads with him holding a Gatorade jug over his head during the team’s first home-stand of the season.
This Willy Adames bobblehead will be taking over Oracle Park today.

Yes, the Gatorade bobbles as well. pic.twitter.com/yUKpqRtbLi
Adames has made a habit of it and he even got doused last year by Heliot Ramos as a bit of revenge after Willy got pretty much everyone else on the team. He even doused some fans in Gatorade last season too. No one is safe.
It’s all fun and games, but at some point it could go too far. Yesterday it was a laptop but tomorrow it could be an iPad and the next day maybe a FitBit. Adames clearly has a vendetta against technology and unless he is stopped he may singlehandedly undo 30 years of technological advancements. It's reckless that he plays so close to Silicon Valley, the tech capital of the world. It's like putting an arsonist in a drought-ridden forest.
If the Giants keep on doing well though then that means there are going to be more Adames Gatorade baths going forward. Daniel Susac’s red-hot first major league start prompted Thursday’s dousing but we know that a walk-off always leads to a Gatorade bath so maybe the Giants are due for one of those soon as well.
It is fun that Adames has made this a new tradition for the Giants. It speaks to his fun-loving nature and the way that he is relentlessly positive and is always there to support his teammates when they have a big game or memorable moment.
Let’s just hope Mills keeps her technology far away the next time she does an on-field postgame interview otherwise she may need to upgrade her laptop insurance policy.Â
