The SF Giants (6-1) pulled off a thrilling walk-off win against the Seattle Mariners (3-5) on Opening Day. Robbie Ray will take the hill against his old team, as the Giants hope to secure a series victory with a win.

Ray generated plenty of buzz in the spring after he started throwing a changeup for which he learned a new grip from 2024 AL Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal. The results were promising, and the new pitch will be part of his arsenal this year, especially against right-handed hitters.

The southpaw pitcher made his 2025 debut last weekend against the Cincinnati Reds. He dominated through the first five innings, but left a couple of mistakes out over the plate in the sixth inning that Reds hitters did not miss. Overall, it was a quality outing where he gave up three earned runs in 5.1 frames in a 6-3 win over the Reds. Ray will get a chance to throw in a more pitcher-friendly ballpark at home.

Who is hot for the SF Giants?

It is tough to have a more memorable Opening Day than the one Willy Adames had. Admittedly, he has gotten off to a slow start, but we are also just seven games through the year. He tallied three hits with three RBI in seven at-bats in Friday's win. This included a walk-off, two-run single that scored Luis Matos and Tyler Fitzgerald.

Who are the SF Giants facing?

The Giants are facing off against Bryce Miller. Miller is coming off of a season in which he registered a 2.94 ERA in 31 starts. He does not give away too many free passes and gets a healthy number of strikeouts. The righty pitcher features a mid-90's fastball with a number of secondary offerings, including a splitter and sweeper.
