The SF Giants (24-15) dropped the first game of the series against the Minnesota Twins (19-20) on Friday night. They will lean on staff ace Logan Webb to get them back in the win column.

SF Giants probable pitchers & starting lineup vs. Minnesota Twins, May 10

Webb already has four wins on the year. That may not seem like much, but wins have been hard to come by in the past. He has reached double-digit wins in each of the past four seasons, but he has often pitched better than his record would suggest.

That is no fault to Webb. The offense has not given him much run support in the same way the lineup did not give Matt Cain run support during his career with San Francisco. However, Webb has already pitched in games where the offense gave him more than five runs of support twice this season.

Outside of pitcher wins, the right-handed hurler is off to another strong start on the mound. He has posted a 2.61 ERA with a 53.6 percent ground ball rate through eight starts. The ground ball rate remains healthy, and he has seen a sharp increase in his strikeout rate (10.4 K/9).

Who is hot for the SF Giants?

LaMonte Wade Jr. is off to a brutal slump to the season, but he has been a little better at the plate in his last severl games. He has tallied a hit in three of his last four games. This includes two, multi-hit games.

Who are the SF Giants facing?

The Giants are facing off against veteran pitcher Joe Ryan. Ryan has a 2.93 ERA through seven starts this year. Ryan relies heavily on a low 90's four-seam fastball, which he throws nearly 60 percent of the time. He mixes in a sweeper and splitter as well.
