The SF Giants (13-7) look to get back in the win column against the Los Angeles Angels (10-9) after dropping the last two games. Landen Roupp will take the hill for San Francisco.

SF Giants probable pitchers & starting lineup vs. Los Angeles Angels, April 19

Roupp got off to a rough start in his last outing against the Philadelphia Phillies. He allowed three runs to cross home plate in the first inning. The young pitcher settled in nicely after that and allowed four runs total in five frames in a 10-4 victory over the Phillies.

As a whole, the rotation has struggled, but Roupp has pitched better than his 4.80 ERA would indicate. His 2.63 FIP, 3.12 xFIP, and 2.57 xERA all suggest that he has been the victim of some bad luck.

The right-handed hurler has recorded a healthy number of strikeouts (12.0 K/9), a few too many walks (4.2 BB/9), and a good ground ball rate (43.6 percent). Opposing hitters have recorded a .410 BABIP in the early going, so that should benefit Roupp's topline numbers when it comes down to a number closer to the league average mark of a .300 BABIP.

Who is hot for the SF Giants?

Jung Hoo Lee has been one of the best hitters in baseball through the first couple of weeks of the season. He tallied two of the Giants' four hits on Friday night, but they were unable to get a run across the plate. Last night marked Lee's eighth multi-hit game of the season. He has appeared in 19 games.

Who are the SF Giants facing?

The Giants are facing off against veteran pitcher Kyle Hendricks. Similar to last night's starter Tyler Andersom Hendricks will not overpower hitters with velocity. His four-seamer sits comfortably in the mid-80's that he pairs with a changeup, sinker, and curveball. He relies on precise command. Hendricks has a 4.20 ERA through his first three starts this season.
