Josuar Gonzalez has thrived in his first turn through the Arizona Complex League (ACL). This has led to him seeing a huge rise to No. 7 in Keith Law’s updated top-50 prospect list.

Law adds that Gonzalez is a candidate to be ranked as the No. 1 prospect in his offseason rankings. Luis Hernández and Gavin Kilen came in at No. 39 and No. 48, respectively.

Law has been higher on Kilen than most outlets. He was selected in last year’s draft with the No. 13 pick out of the University of Tennessee.

The left-handed bat was assigned to the Eugene Emeralds to start the year, and has put together a strong year in his first full season at pro ball. He is hitting .299/.362/.448 (121 wRC+) with four home runs, 40 RBI, and 32 runs in 196 plate appearances.

Kilen’s 40 RBI leads the Northwest League. Dakota Jordan is now far behind with 34 RBI. Kilen offers a good blend of contact and extra-base power while playing up the middle in the field.

Jhonny Level was also listed as an honorable mention in Law’s list. Where is Bryce Eldridge? Law did not include players currently on the 40-man roster.

SF Giants middle infield prospect could be the No. 1 prospect in the offseason

Josuar Gonzalez offers a well-rounded skill set. That is one of the reasons he was viewed as one of the top prospects during the 2025 international signing period.

The switch-hitter earned a signing bonus of just under $3 million out of the Dominican Republic. It marked one of the largest investments by the organization through that channel.

The switch-hitter began his pro career in the Dominican Summer League last season, and slashed .288/.404/.455 (129 wRC+) with four home runs, 24 RBI, and 52 runs in 228 plate appearances. He moved stateside this year, and has put up a 1.209 OPS in 49 plate appearances in the Arizona Complex League.

Gonzalez has dealt with a leg injury during the season, but it has not impacted his performance at the plate. If he remains healthy, there is a good chance that he, along with Luis Hernández, will finish the season in Low-A.

The 18-year-old middle infielder offers an intriguing blend of contact, speed, and defense. Scouts believe that he will develop some more power as he matures.
