The SF Giants hired Zack Minasian as their new general manager. Minasian's brother, Perry, is the current general manager of the Los Angeles Angels. This could mean that the Giants and Angels will be natural trade partners.

Trades could end up being the best way for the Giants to improve their team if they do not have much success in free agency. The Angels have several players who would be a good fit on the Giants so let's take a look at some trades the Minasian brothers could make.

3 LA Angels players the SF Giants can trade for

1. SS Zach Neto

Shortstop is a clear need for the Giants. They have been connected to free agents like Willy Adames and Ha-Seong Kim, but what if they traded for a promising young shortstop like Zach Neto? The 23 year old had a solid 2024 campaign where he hit .249/.318/.443 with 23 home runs and 77 RBI. He also stole 30 bases on the year. He is below average defensively, but he is still young so that is something he could improve on. The Giants would have to give up some prospects and maybe even a big leaguer to get him, but he would clearly be the future shortstop if they could pry him from the Angels.

2. SP Tyler Anderson

Giants fans may remember Tyler Anderson from his stint with the team in 2020. Since then, he had an All-Star season with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2022 and has been with the Angels since then. He turned in a very solid 2024 with a 3.81 ERA in 31 starts. He could be a decent middle of the rotation arm for the Giants although they may rather have Kyle Harrison and Hayden Birdsong out there since they are the future of the rotation.

3. RP José Quijada

The Giants could use a left-handed reliever, and José Quijada could be a good fit. Last season he had a 3.26 ERA in 19 and 1/3 innings pitched. He has an impressive career strikeout rate of 12.09 strikeouts per 9 innings but a just as troubling career walk rate of 5.91 walks per 9 innings. He could be a high upside add in the bullpen for cheap.

The Giants and Angels could make for good trade partners given the Minasian brother connection, and these three players would make sense on the Giants.
