The SF Giants took the first game of a three game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night. However, it was impossible to ignore the large number of Dodgers fans in attendance and two Giants players spoke out on it.
Both starting pitcher Logan Webb and shortstop Willy Adames, the star of the night with a home run, triple, and three runs batted in, noticed the large contingent of Dodgers fans in the crowd and were not thrilled about it.
"Probably a little too many Dodger fans in the stands."

"Not gonna lie I feel like we had to many Dodger fans here. Maybe tomorrow we get more San Francisco fans."

SF Giants leaders call out there being too many Dodgers fans at Oracle Park
Both Webb and Adames noted that there was too much blue in the stands, with Webb saying, "Every time we play these guys it’s a great atmosphere. Probably a little too many Dodger fans in the stands, but it’s alway fun playing against them and a good energy.” Webb is no stranger to this rivalry and has made his dislike of the Dodgers clear.
Adames echoed that sentiment, saying, "Not gonna lie, I feel like we had too many Dodger fans here. Maybe tomorrow we will get more San Francisco fans. The energy was intense and it felt like a playoff game, to be honest.” These guys are leaders on the team, so if they are calling it out you know it is a real issue.
This problem is nothing new. For years now there have been a lot of Dodgers fans showing up at Oracle Park. Los Angeles is a big market, and with the success the team has had over the past decade the number of bandwagon fans is naturally going to grow so it makes sense that there has been an influx.
Perhaps this is some sort of cosmic justice for the way San Francisco 49ers fans take over SoFi Stadium every time the 49ers play the Los Angeles Rams down south.
While it is dispiriting to see so much blue in the stands, last night's game showed the rivalry between the two teams is very strong. It was an exciting and close game and the crowd was into it, both Giants fans and Dodgers fans. The Dodgers fans even deserve a little credit as it seems most of them stayed the whole game which runs counter to their nature.
We will have to see what the makeup of the crowd looks like on Saturday and Sunday, but let's hope orange and black eclipses blue in the crowd. Most importantly, let's hope the Giants can pull off a sweep of the Dodgers to get two games back of LA in the NL West standings.
