SF Giants ace Logan Webb has made his second consecutive All-Star Game. While he must be pretty pumped about that, he is also excited about the uniform change at this year's All-Star Game that allows players to wear their team's jersey.

This change is a return to the way things were from the 1930's until 2019 when players in the All-Star Game would wear either their team's primary home or road jersey depending on whether the park hosting the game was a National League or American League park.

From 2021 to 2024, there were specially designed uniforms for each team that were worn by the players like the one Webb is wearing in the cover image for this article.

In a social media post from San Francisco Standard reporter John Shea, Webb is rocking his cream-colored home Giants uniform and looks very happy about it:

While it was an interesting idea to experiment with special uniforms for the All-Star Game, it just feels better having players represent their teams by wearing their traditional team jerseys. That way more casual fans can get to know players and know instantly what teams they play for.

Webb has looked to be on an All-Star trajectory since early this season. While Webb is typically thought of as a sinkerballer who mostly induces ground balls, his strikeout rate has gone up quite a bit this season.

On the season, Webb has a record of 9-6 in 20 starts and 125 and 2/3 innings pitched. He has 139 strikeouts compared to 28 walks. As usual, he has been one of the best innings-eaters in baseball this season as the only MLB pitcher he trails in innings pitched is Garret Crochet.

As of right now, the plan is for Webb to pitch the third inning of the All-Star Game per Shea. He will be hoping to have a better showing than last year when he allowed three earned runs in the third inning including a home run to Shohei Ohtani.

Webb may well be the only Giant to pitch in the game since Robbie Ray will be unavailable due to him pitching on Sunday. Randy Rodríguez could be used later in the game potentially.

Giants players have had some rough moments in All-Star Games over the years, so let's hope Webb can deliver a good performance in a jersey that he should feel far more comfortable in.
