The SF Giants have not made any major additions to the lineup so far this offseason. While that could change, it would not be a huge surprise at this point if the Giants decide to just roll with their internal options offensively. If they do, it is worth taking a look at what the lineup would look like if the season started today.

Projecting SF Giants starting lineup if season started today

1. CF Jung Hoo Lee

The Giants used Lee as a No. 3 hitter last season and during his struggles he was bumped down towards the bottom of the lineup. San Francisco needs him to be the everyday leadoff hitter that they signed him to be ahead of the 2024 season.

2. SS Willy Adames

Last season Adames became the first Giants hitter since Barry Bonds to hit 30 home runs. His numbers on the year were not bad considering he had a rough first half, so in his second year with the team expect a big jump forward.

3. 1B Rafael Devers

While Devers was a little uneven after the blockbuster trade that sent him from Boston to San Francisco, he showed everyone the power he has in his bat so he should be the No. 3 hitter for quite some time.

4. 3B Matt Chapman

Unfortunately, Chapman dealt with injuries in 2025 but he was still his usual productive self when he was healthy. He certainly played through some injuries too which may have affected his performance at the plate. He will still be in the middle of the order in 2026, though.

5. LF Heliot Ramos

Defense was a much bigger issue than offense for Ramos last season. He needs to do more defensively, but when he's right he is one of the best hitters in the lineup for San Francisco.

6. DH Jerar Encarnacion

Many fans will likely be clamoring for Bryce Eldridge to be on the team to begin 2026. There is a chance of that, but if the Giants want to let him develop a bit more then Encarnacion becomes the most likely option to be the DH. Let's just hope he can stay healthier in 2026 if they go that route.

7. 2B Casey Schmitt

Although he had offseason wrist surgery, Schmitt should be ready by Opening Day. The Giants have been linked to several second base upgrades, but if they do not make a move then Schmitt should get the nod.

8. RF Drew Gilbert

The idea of Drew Gilbert being the Opening Day right fielder next season is a bit concerning, but at the very least he would provide solid defense in the outfield even if his bat seems like it is not quite ready for the big leagues.

9. C Patrick Bailey

We all know Bailey is incredible behind the plate and he is good for an inside-the-park homer or two next season, but he needs to be more consistent at the plate before he can bat higher in the lineup.

Clearly there is room for improvement here. Adding Cody Bellinger would transform the lineup but the Giants may opt to continue their frugal offseason and roll with the options they have.
