The SF Giants and Toronto Blue Jays split the first two games of the series. San Francisco will rely on Jordan Hicks to lead them to a series victory in the final game of the series.

Hicks is entering an interesting point in the series. The veteran pitcher worked primarily out of the bullpen for the first five years of his career. This is his first extended look out of the rotation and he has done a nice job. Overall, he has tallied a 3.47 ERA, 4.04 FIP, 1.32 WHIP, 8.1 K/9, and a 2.34 SO/W rate in 18 starts.

While his overall numbers are solid, he has pitched to a 5.27 ERA in six starts since the start of June. The righty pitcher has thrown 90.2 innings, which is already a career high. He has shown that he can stick as a viable starter, but the Giants will likely need to scale back his workload in the second half of the year.

Who it hot?

Heliot Ramos has recorded a hit in each of his last six games. He has nine hits, including two home runs, in 25 at-bats during that stretch.

Who are the SF Giants facing?

The Giants will be facing off against Kevin Gausman. San Francisco knows him well from his time with the club in 2020 and 2021. This will be his first start back at Oracle Park since he departed in free agency after the 2021 season. He did face off against the Giants last year where he yielded one earned run with 12 strikeouts in six frames. In 2024, he has a 4.64 ERA in 18 outings.
