The SF Giants will visit their ol' pals, the Seattle Mariners, for a three-game series over the weekend. Hayden Birdsong will take the mound to get the club back on track.

Despite winning the series against the Chicago White Sox, the finale was an agonizing defeat as the bullpen let the game slip away. The Giants lineup only managed to score 11 runs over three games against one of the worst pitching staffs in baseball. Unfortunately, the script has flipped and the Mariners lead baseball with a 3.53 ERA.

While the Giants have been stuck in the middle, it has been a positive year of development for many of their younger players including Birdsong. The rookie pitcher allowed one earned run in 4.2 innings in a start against the Oakland A's last week. Overall, he has a 5.01 ERA with 49 strikeouts and 22 walks in 41.1 innings.

Who it hot?

Mark Canha continues to make a positive impression with the Giants. He added two hits in a 6-2 loss to the White Sox on Wednesday. Since being moved to the Giants, the veteran bat has tallied 13 hits in 40 at-bats.

Who are the SF Giants facing?
