SF Giants probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. New York Yankees, June 1
The SF Giants dropped the first game of the series against the New York Yankees. Aaron Judge poured salt into an old wound by blasting two home runs in a 6-2 win. The Giants will look to Logan Webb to get them back in the win column.
SF Giants probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. New York Yankees, June 1
Judge grew up in Linden, California. He attended Fresno State University before being plucked in the first round of the 2013 draft by the New York Yankees. The power-hitting outfielder became a free agent for the first time last winter and the Giants front office hoped that the local ties could sway him to San Francisco. That did not happen as Judge signed a long-term deal to remain with the Yankees.
On the other hand, Webb is in the midst of another strong year. The veteran pitcher has a 2.74 ERA in 12 starts for the Giants. This will be his second time facing off against the Yankees. He yielded four earned runs in six innings in his only outing against New York.
Who it hot?
Thairo Estrada has a modest, four-game hitting streak going. He had record seven hits in 17 at-bats during that time. On the year, Estrada has a .696 OPS with eight home runs. He is tied with Matt Chapman for the team lead in home runs.
Who are the SF Giants facing?
I have some bad news for you. The Giants are facing off against Cody Poteet. They have not seen him previously and that is usually a tough matchup for San Francisco. Poteet has a 1.50 ERA in one outing this season. He has a 4.18 ERA in parts of three seasons in the majors.
