The SF Giants hope to complete a three-game sweep of the New York Mets on Wednesday. Blake Snell was originally scheduled to pitch, but he was placed on the injured list. Ryan Walker will start in his place.

Snell has struggled to an 11.57 ERA in three starts in 2024. He has typically been a slow starter throughout his career, but perhaps, his struggles have also been influeced by the lack of a normal spring training.

The lefty pitcher sustained an abductor strain and will miss at least 15 days. Landen Roupp was recalled after briefly being optioned back to Triple-A.

Walker has been one of the bright spots in the bullpen. He has a 3.46 ERA in 13 outings so far and was likely tabbed as the starter given that he can give the team more length than a typical reliever.

Who it hot?

Michael Conforto blasted his fifth home run of the season on Monday. He has been one of the Giants' best hitters in what the team hopes to be a resurgent campaign. The left-handed bat tallied a respectable .718 OPS with15 home runs in 470 plate appearances last season.

However, Conforto did miss the entire 2022 season, so there was some growing pains that came with that. He has recorded an .817 OPS in 90 plate appearances and looks to continue his strong start.

Who are the SF Giants facing?

Sean Manaea will take the mound for the Mets. The southpaw pitcher pitched for San Francisco last season before opting out and joining New York. He has a 4.12 ERA through his first four starts.
