The SF Giants split the first two games of the series against the Minnesota Twins. They will look to Blake Snell to clinch a series win and finish the first half of the season on a high note.
SF Giants probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Minnesota Twins, July 14
There is no denying that the two-time Cy Young winner has been one of the biggest disappointments in baseball from the first half of the season. The good news is that the baseball season is a long one and there is still time for him to turn it around.
On the year, Snell has posted a 7.85 ERA, 4.49 FIP, 1.74 WHIP, 10.7 K/9, and a 2.00 SO/W rate in 28.2 innings. While those numbers are rough, he did have his best outing of the season against the Toronto Blue Jays in his last start as completed five scoreless innings.
Who it hot?
Patrick Bailey recorded at least two hits in four of his last five games, including a two-hit game in a 4-2 loss against the Twins on Saturday. During that stretch, he has tallied eight hits in 18 at-bats.
Who are the SF Giants facing?
The Giants will face off against veteran pitcher Chris Paddack. Paddack has a 5.18 ERA in 16 starts this season with the Twins. Earlier in his career, he worked a starter for the San Diego Padres. Paddack has held the Giants to a 3.82 ERA in seven starts in his career.
