The SF Giants season has taken a nosedive after losing two straight series, including a four-game sweep from the Philadelphia Phillies. They now travel to Coors Field to face off against the Colorado Rockies with Kyle Harrison on the bump.

The Giants offense just is not hitting. There is no other way around it. Going to the hitter-friendly confines of Coors Field might help, but it could also pose a tough challenge for a young pitcher like Harrison.

The 22-year-old pitcher has looked a lot more like himself in recent starts, mixing in his slurvy slider and changeup more to go along with his four-seam fastball. His four-seam fastball is one of the better pitches in baseball, so the offspeed offerings play off of that pitch.

On the year, Harrison has a 3.79 ERA, 3.89 FIP, 1.28 WHIP, 9/0 K/9, and a 3.80 SO/R ratio in seven starts. It feels like a jinx to mention this given where he is pitching today, but he has not allowed a home run in his last three starts.

Who it hot?

LaMonte Wade Jr. has been the Giants' most consistent hitter in 2024. He tallied two more hits in Monday's 6-1 loss against the Phillies. This gives him a hit in three of his last four games, including two multi-hit games during that time.

Who are the SF Giants facing?

The Giants face off against Dakota Hudson. He is winless in six starts with a 5.93 ERA, 5.04 FIP, 1.68 WHIP, 5.3 K/9, and a 1.06 SO/W ratio. He does not strike out a lot of hitters and pitches with a lot of traffic on the bases.
