SF Giants probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Colorado Rockies, May 19
The Rockies are not a good team. They have a 15-30 overall record, but they also on a tear before coming to San Francisco. With that being said, the wins on Friday and Saturday were some of the refreshing victories in recent memory.
They did it with the young talent that finally has a chance to get an extended look. Marco Luciano collected his first career RBI on Saturday and followed it up with two doubles on Saturday. Heliot Ramos continues to find holes in the defense. And, Luis Matos might be the hottest hitter on the planet after registering 11 RBI in his first two games against Colorado.
They will continue to get a look as they have injected some much-needed energy into the lineup. They will take the field with Hicks on the Mound. Hicks is off to a solid start with a 2.44 ERA through his first nine starts of the year.
Who it hot?
Matt Chapman has seven hits in his last eight at-bats. However, his performance has been overshadowed by Matos. Matos has six hits in the series, including three doubles and one home run, in 10 at-bats. He followed up his five-RBI night on Friday with another six RBI on Saturday.
Who are the SF Giants facing?
The Giants are facing off against Dakota Hudson. Hudson has a 6.13 ERA in eight outings with the Rockies in 2024. This includes a recent start against the Giants where he yielded four earned runs on five hits and five walks in 3.2 innings earlier this month.
