The SF Giants have dropped the first two games of the series. They now have a 47-52 record and need to start playing better baseball. They will rely on Hayden Birdsong to get them back on track on Sunday.

Jordan Hicks was originally scheduled as the starter to today's game, but the Giants made a change, going with Birdsong instead. Perhaps, the adjustment was as a way to given Hicks another day off as he continues to pitch well above his previous career high in innings.

On the other hand, Birdsong has done a nice job with a 3.72 ERA in four starts so far. He has flashed an intriguing arsenal with a high 90's four-seam fastball, curveball, slider, and changeup. Pitching in Coors Field will be a tough challenge for the rookie pitcher.

Who it hot?

Tyler Fitzgerald should start to see more playing time, especially as Thairo Estrada's bat has declined noitceably this season. Fitzgerald has recorded a hit in three of his last four games. This includes hitting a home run in two straight games.

Who are the SF Giants facing?

The Giants will face off against Ryan Feltner. The righty pitcher has struggled to a 5.36 ERA in 19 starts with the Rockies in 2024. He has faced the Giants three times before, allowing 11 earned runs across 16 innings of work.
